Despite Qualcomm being in all sorts of trouble, it just put in a great quarter.
After a recent run up in stock price, which side will the dice roll?

Finished. Finished, I Tell You!

As everyone knows, it’s all over for Qualcomm. Just on an extended period of life support because Apple couldn’t get its act together in designing its own modem chips. (Note to, er, everyone: analog semiconductor stuff is hard. Harder than you think. Harder than anyone thinks. That’s why there are still so many independent analog semiconductor companies. Try to raid their designers? Good luck. You have to be a magician of sorts to design in analog, a very particular kind of person, and a simple extra few dollars and more lunch vouchers won’t cause these folks to walk over to the company next door).
Well, nobody told Qualcomm, it seems, since it just put in a great quarter. The future may be bright or dark, no-one knows, but this quarter? It was a great quarter.
